OUR LEGACY

Our story began in 1976 with a sole proprietor, Mr. Jattu Dukpa, who initiated the Jattu Construction Company (JCC) as a sister company to Jattu Wood Industry to address the exponential growth in Bhutan’s infrastructural development. As the Royal Government of Bhutan began to streamline the construction industry, JCC changed its epithet to Phuensum Builders Private Limited (PBPL) in 1988 and was classified as a grade C construction company. Over the next two decades, PBPL eventually upgraded to grade A category after successfully completing several large projects.

Today PBPL as an organization has evolved from a single person company to that of a highly technical and motivated team. The company has come a long way over the last 30 years, gaining considerable experience with every new project. We now have staff with experience in road, residential buildings, academic blocks, libraries, museum buildings, BHUs, police stations, multipurpose halls and even hotels. Our clients include government institutions, private entrepreneurs, individual home/real estate owners, and corporations.

PBPL has 3 sister concerns; Staples and Jattu Wood Industries that specializes in flooring, wooden doors and window and furniture, Jattu Building Solutions which is an in-house trading company dealing with Aluplast uPVC doors and window fixtures, and Phuensum Consultancy Services (PCS); a consulting firm that has been involved in over 20-ADB funded assessments and studies ranging from Hydropower Development Studies and Rural Electrification to Road Transport Development studies and Health Program development. PCS experts have in-depth experience in implementing projects with various ministries within the Royal Government of Bhutan, international donors such as ADB, World Bank, World Wildlife Fund, Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Bhutan for Life.
